February 2020

Our focus for the month of February is to spread kindness in the community by doing Random acts of kindness. On February 12, 2020, our Mayor Jacob Day and the Secretary of Kindness, Grace Foxwell Murdock, were busy spreading kindness throughout the City of Salisbury to inspire individuals to pay it forward for Random Acts of Kindness Day on February 17th.
Their first stop was to Rise up Coffee Roasters for Grace and the Mayor to work the front counter, surprising customers with coffee and breakfast on them.

Next, the group headed over to North Salisbury Elementary School, where they were joined by Martin Hutchison, the Secretary of Community Gardens and a fellow Kindness Commissioner, where they surprised staff with Dunkin Donuts, extra recess, homework passes and some reading time with Mayor Day.

Their next stop was Encompass Health where they handed out roses (that were so kindly donated by Kitty’s Flowers) to patients and health care workers.

Their last stop on the kindness tour was Toroid Corporation, where they brought a delicious Jimmy John’s lunch for employees to enjoy.
